(April 8, 2013)

On April 5, SolarMax Technology, Inc. invited UCR Interim Chancellor Jane Close Conoley and Interim Dean Yunzeng Wang for a tour of their Riverside facilities.

Hosts David Hsu (CEO) and Ching Liu (Executive Vice President) discussed the company's philosophy on sustainable energy and technology. They also discussed with the chancellor and the dean UCR's potential role in the green revolution.

Headquartered in the City of Industry, SolarMax Technology Inc. provides, installs and finances solar power systems for residential and commercial markets. SolarMax established a Riverside headquarters in 2012, renovating a 165,000-square-foot historic building in downtown Riverside. The move has spurred job creation for the area, with 1,600 jobs set to be created directly and indirectly.

Dean Wang said, "I was honored to accompany Chancellor Conoley during her visit to the SolarMax facilities. SolarMax has been a leader in delivering high-quality solar energy systems to customers, and they appreciate the value of education. I see so many opportunities for UCR to further partner with them."
