About Marketing

Marketing plays an essential role in an organization — connecting the company with its customers. To do this, marketers study their customers and competitors so they can design strategies for product, promotion, pricing and distribution that meet the needs and wants of the customer within a competitive marketplace.

 Our faculty includes world-class researchers and teachers with backgrounds in psychology, behavioral decision making, economics, and statistics. The faculty publishes cutting-edge research in the leading scholarly marketing journals in areas such as e-commerce, consumer behavior and decision making, quantitative behavior models, and customer relationship management.

At both the undergraduate and graduate levels, the courses we offer are designed to expose students to the latest concepts and practices across key areas of marketing. In addition to courses covering product development, pricing strategy, advertising, and distribution management, course offerings include Internet Marketing, Global Marketing, and Database Marketing.

Students interested in pursuing marketing careers can find employment in a wide variety of career paths in diverse areas of marketing including brand management, advertising, sales force management, and marketing research. Marketers are employed in large and small companies, as well as not-for-profit organizations.
